Gordon Anthony (1902-1989) was known principally as a photographer. He was the principal photographer at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre and during the 1930s took many photos of the Royal Ballet. In 1948 he published the first colour photography book in the UK Studies of Dancers.
His sister was Dame Ninette de Valois who was a dancer in Diaghilev's company. His photos are in the collections of the V & A and the National Portrait Gallery.
