Orton, Joe Loot First Edition

1967 by Methuen. pp87 Black boards with photographic cover from 1st production. First editions in hardback are surprisingly rare.
Orton's second play to be performed, first staged in 1966. It suffered interventions from the British censor at the time who prevented the corpse from being played by a real actor among other things.
The book has owner's name in small writing at top of front endpaper otherwise the text is clear though with some fading due to age. Some staining to endpapers Very good.
The dustjacket is very good complete with slight bumping top and bottom of spine and spotting on front and back flaps plus tape marks internally and one externally where tape has been removed. Covered with Brodart protective cover.
